Black Washtenaw County Collaboratory
A collaboration with university and community partners, this project is a history of Black and African American spaces in Washtenaw County.
The website includes histories from the early nineteenth century to the present and documents more than 60 buildings and spaces in the county. Through oral histories, the project also contextualizes the spaces with stories concerning how community members built and lived their lives in the county despite racial segregation and discrimination.
